I recently switch carrier from Netcom to One Call.
The reason for this was simple, my contract with Netcom pretty much sucked.
I signed up when I purchased my iPhone 4 and when it included a phone the contract was pretty decent, at the time it was the only subscription that came with unlimited data transfer.
Netcom had a pretty neat iOS app that showed you your current traffic and billing amount, I thought this was pretty handy, so it saddened me when I found out that OneCall does not have an iOS application of any kind. But I'm not the kind to sit around and mope, I decided to take matters into my own hands and began coding, this is what I ended up with.
I will do another blog post explaining more in-depth what features will be included and how the application actually works behind the scenes.
But for now, thats it!
Later gators!
mobtest.com has written a short blog post explaining why the Facebook iOS application sucks. The main cause is that if you use UIWebViews you don't have access to the Nitro JavaScript engine, however Nitro is enabled when using mobile Safari, as a result the mobile webpage is faster than the app, which in my opinion sorta defeats the purpose of having an app.
The article also explains the benefits of using WebView, so you should had over and read the entire blog post.
Here’s why the Facebook iOS app is so bad (UIWebViews and no Nitro)
Just thought I'd give you a short update on things. First of, my main focus is still iPhoto Importer and will remain so until it has been approved by Apple. Hopefully that won't take too long.
When it gets approved I will start building another application that I've been planning for a while now. I won't disclose any more details.
I'll post some more information about my upcoming project when the time is right.
Also, last but not least... a new version of Marvin is coming.
